Battery Failsafe

The firmware Arducopter has a number of failsafe mechanisms to ease vehicle recovery/prevent wandering in the event that vehicle control is lost.

The Battery Failsafe serves to guarantee a safe termination of the flight in those cases in which the Drone detects that the battery is very low.

It is activated when the battery voltage remains below 43.5V for more than 10 seconds, which is equivalent to more or less 25% of the battery capacity	The message “Low Battery! ” appears on the screen and by default RTL flight mode is activated	When a battery failsafe occurs, the immediate action is to leave automatic control on the Drone and not interrupt the RTL maneuver. If the pilot interrupt the RTL maneuver, there is a risk that the battery voltage drops below a threshold in which the drone has not enough power to lift its weight and therefore suffer a hard landing
